Tax-smart financial planning for LGBTQ+ professionals & retirees.

We help LGBTQ+ individuals and couples with $1M+ minimize taxes, make smarter investment decisions, and build a retirement plan designed to get the most out of life with your money.

For near and recent retirees

You’ve spent a lifetime building your wealth. Let’s put it to work.

We help you transition from saving to spending, without the guesswork. That means a retirement paycheck that holds up whether you're single, partnered, married, or building a plan around a family that doesn't look like the one your parents had. You've already done the hard part. Now let's make sure the money works as hard as you did.

For high-income, mid-career professionals

You make great money and save a chunk every month, but do you have a real plan?

High earnings don't always equal high clarity, especially when your plan wasn't built with your life in mind. We help high-achieving LGBTQ+ professionals navigate equity & executive compensation, Traditional vs. Roth savings decisions, and tax-loss harvesting so you can maximize your return on your time.

A bit about me

I started my career in financial services in 2008 (great timing, right?) and have held various positions in the industry, from delivering personalized financial advice, to trading, to compliance. I learned quickly that my favorite was working with everyday people, where I can make a true impact in their financial lives.

However, working for a company always meant some sort of sales goal that made clients seem like just another number, which I didn't jive with. I do my best work when I truly get to know what makes people tick - the human side of financial planning, not just the numbers.

As a gay man, I always wanted to start a firm that catered to the LGBTQ+ community. We often have unique financial considerations like dual-income households, either no kids or planning for adoption/surrogacy expenses, age gaps, and more. Plus, real financial planning requires a deep understanding of your personal values, and that means providing a place where our community can let their guard down, knowing I'm on your side.

So, I started my firm to "spark" change in our community for the better. See what I did there?

A bit about me

I spent the first 7 years of my career working as an advisor for one of the largest wealth management firms in the country. During my time there, I worked with thousands of people from all walks of life, and learned a ton about common financial concerns and challenges. While I enjoyed helping a large number of people plan for retirement and achieve other financial goals, I knew my skillset would be best focused on a smaller, select number of people.

At Spark, I can provide white-glove service by limiting the number of people I work with, while giving better financial advice and forming more meaningful relationships along the way.

Being part of an openly gay-owned business means I can start every new client relationship off on the right foot. Not needing to question the values of the person across from me is quite a liberating feeling, and I know my clients have felt the same from day one.

I'm a member of the following professional organizations:

CFP® Professional
XY Planning Network
Fee-Only Network
